Hop in and tour around the residential neighborhood in the eastern part of the borough of Brooklyn in New York City! Featuring an urban mix of business and residences, with abundant open-air space, including a waterfront nature preserve. One of our Crew bravely traversed the streets of East New York to give a full tour; Interestingly, he met several bikers making the walking tour more exciting.
Technically, this place is considered by some as a notorious area alongside Brownsville. Since the late 1950s, East New York has had some of the highest crime rates in Brooklyn. In the 1980s, affordable housing with subsidies was granted to the community with interest-free loans per house. In the early 2000s, there were already budding developments in the area, such as suburban-style shopping complexes and multiple shopping centers along the way.
