Know More About the New YouTube Theater

YouTube has signed its first contract for name rights. The “YouTube Theater” will be the name of the 6,000-seat performance facility at the Hollywood Park entertainment and sports complex in Inglewood, California. The theater is set to open this coming summer season with its first events, and it has already secured numerous musical performers until early 2022. The theater will be named after the Google-owned video company for a period of ten years.

Concerts, conferences, esports contests, events, community gatherings, stand-up comedy, and award presentations starring many YouTube content creators will all be held at the new YouTube Theater. The theater is part of the approximately 300-acre Hollywood Park development, which was spearheaded by the chairman and owner of the Los Angeles Rams Stan Kroenke. Kroenke’s initial idea for the theater venue, according to Jason Gannon, who is the managing director of Hollywood Park and SoFi Stadium, was for it to represent three fundamental traits: entertainment, innovation, and technology.

The property is located on the site of the former Hollywood Park Racetrack and is part of the same complex as SoFi Stadium (home of the Los Angeles Chargers and Rams) and American Airlines Plaza. There are also 3,000 residences, a 300-room hotel, and an 890,000 square-foot retail space in Hollywood Park.

The theater is set to have a largely displayed digital YouTube play button outside of the venue that can change into a video screen that visitors can interact with by reflecting themselves on the screen and seeing highlights of material from YouTube artists and creators as part of the naming rights arrangement. The interior of the venue has a dynamic digital wall that will also be used as interactive video screens.
