The Japanese artist has released a one-of-one signed tote bag via Perrotin. Takashi Murakami’s latest offering is – you guessed it – another variation of his iconic cartoon character Mr. DOB, who appears on a bag designed by the artist himself in collaboration with Parisian art space and gallery, Perrotin.
The black canvas tote bag is constructed from the same cotton canvas that Murakami uses for his work, and is finished with a reinforced base, polyester lining and cow leather handles. “I am very happy to be releasing a series of limited items reflecting my art in collaboration with Perrotin,” said Murakami. “This new bag is something I designed especially for the Perrotin gallery; it was fun to make and I hope you enjoy using it.”
Take a look at the image above and watch this space as we’ll update further when full details are known. The Murakami x Perrotin collaboration launches on Thursday, December 14, and alongside the canvas tote bag, an edition of twelve Mr. DOB pins designed by Murakami will also be available in black and gold.
